If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Psalms 11:3                .

Initiating a discussion on the multitude of evidence given to us by our Lord is like trying to eat an elephant in one bite.  A little hard to digest and tough going down.  However, after much deliberation and prayer I believe we should start from the beginning; to the front of the Book; page one.

Ken Ham, a creationist speaker for over 25 years, says that much of the westernized world has forsaken its foundational understanding of God’s Word.  For decades, Americans knew from Whom they were given their inalienable rights.  We were one nation under God, dwelling in the reality that by Him all things were made and do consist.  Yet within the past few decades, that knowledge, given to us by God, has been undermined by secular teachings that have destroyed the foundations that we have stood upon for so long.

Ask yourselves this question.  Where do the concepts of sin, judgement, and atonement come from?  Do they begin in the New Testament or the Old?  The Old Testament of course.  But where in the Old Testament?; Genesis.  If you ponder that question for a bit, you’ll recognize that every fundamental teaching of Christ originates in Genesis.

New Tribes Mission, a missionary group focused on spreading the gospel to tribes in Brazil, Africa, Australia, and around the world, discovered a problem while attempting to educate these indigenous people. The tribesman didn’t understand creation, sin, the fall of man, the need for salvation, the concept of one God, the world flood, and many other issues.  They had to start from the beginning with the creation story in Genesis.

The apostle Paul, as he was speaking to the Greeks in Athens on Mars hill, started from the beginning saying, “God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth  not in temples made with hands;”(Acts 17:24).  He was speaking to a group of Gentiles that didn’t understand the Jewish heritage of Jesus Christ.

Peter said over in his second epistle (2 Peter 3:3-7) that in the last days scoffers (or mockers) will be willfully ignorant of the creation and the flood.  To put into layman’s terms, willfully ignorant means to be dumb on purpose.  Even though they knew the truth, they decided to embrace a fabrication.  And not only welcome it, but enlarge its acceptance and take pride in misleading others.  A prophecy very fitting for our day and time.

Unfortunately the scoffing, brought on by humanistic and evolutionary teaching, has extended throughout the church.   These charlatans, professing themselves to be wise yet becoming fool’s (Rom 1:22;1:16-32), have transformed God’s creation into a cosmic burp that, by sheer accident, coagulated into a molting hot rock to cool down into a primordial ooze that slowly, over eons of time, evolved into a man.  No longer are we made in the image of God.  We are just a grouping of particles that formed into a person rather than a lump of coal.   Young ladies, now your frog can really turn into a prince.  You’ll just have to wait a few million years after kissing him.

Also, the judgement that came upon the earth in the time of Noah is no longer a world wide deluge, but a localized flood that plagued a silly old man and his seven family members.  Thus, turning Noah into an eccentric that didn’t have enough common sense to just move to higher ground.

We continually swing at the branches of secular dogma when we need to be digging down to destroy the root.  The Barbarians are at the gate and our only concern is that they don’t sit in our spot on Sunday.

The only means through which we can dispel this darkness is to bring in the light of scripture.  As always our foundation of study will be the word of God.  It will be the mooring from which everything else will be firmly established.  We will be taking brief excursions through a dozen or more questions that continue to plague the psyche of many Christians.

Below are a few quagmires we’ll attempt to shed some light on.

*      Did God really take six days to create everything?

*      What about carbon dating, does it disprove the Bible?

*      How can we see distant stars in a young universe?

*      Cain’s wife – who was she?

*      Was Noah’s flood global?

*      What about “continental drift”?

*      Noah’s flood – where is all the water?

*      How did all the animals fit on the ark?

*      How did the different “races” arise?

*      WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DINOSAURS?

This and much more will be briefly covered in future discussions.  If your anxious to explore these topics in greater depth and can’t wait for the sequel, you can check out these topics on the web.  The following are a list of a few locations that can get you started.
